While St. Laurence School is an elementary school educating students from Pre-K to Eighth grade, our hope is that our students continue their high school education at a Catholic High School within the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, like St. Hubert’s Catholic School for Girls.
Students from St. Hubert’s demonstrated their Catholic values and showed their appreciation for health care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Student council members from the school launched a “Snacks of Heroes” campaign to honor medical workers. Students, wearing their face masks and gloves, collected drive-up donations outside of their school’s campus, and with the help of alumnae, classmates and other community members worked together to drop off prepackaged chips, candy, pretzels, granola bars and cookies to emergency room staff at Abington Hospital-Jefferson Health in Montgomery County.
The girls were inspired by Blessed Trinity Regional Catholic School’s similar act to honor the Abington staff. Health care staff in the five-county Philadelphia area are treating 50% of Pennsylvania’s total COVID-19 confirmed cases, so students from St. Hubert’s felt called into action to really show their thanks and appreciation.
Thank you to all the healthcare workers!
